History Day: COS@150 Award

Geographic Scope: Colorado Springs, Colorado (local)

Focus Areas: Local history projects by 6th-12th grade students

Background: In 2021, the city commemorated its 150th anniversary (sesquicentennial). To honor this special year, the museum offered an award for the best local history project.

Eligibility:

• 6th-12th grade students
• Must compete as an INDIVIDUAL (not group)
• Project must be on a LOCAL HISTORY TOPIC
• Competing in the Regional History Day competition held at Colorado College
• Any category accepted (Documentary, Exhibit, Paper, Performance, Website)

What They Fund:

• Individual student projects on local history topics in any History Day category
