Overview

What We Do The Community Foundation is a repository for more than 700 charitable funds worth more than $50 million. Each of these funds was created by donors to enhance the quality of life in Southern Wisconsin. We service these funds by managing the investment, encouraging and supporting additions, overseeing the disbursement of grants and scholarships, and managing the requisite government paperwork. The Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin serves communities in nine Southern Wisconsin counties: Crawford, Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette, Rock, Sauk, Vernon, and Walworth. We provide services to donors, non-profit organizations, and students in each of these counties. Hillsboro Excellence in Education Fund The Hillsboro Excellence in Education (EIE) Fund is an endowment fund that provides private resources for the support of the Hillsboro School District. Grants from the Hillsboro EIE to the Hillsboro School District will support educational programming outside of the boundaries of the school district budget. The Fund was established in 2012 with donations from community members. The Hillsboro EIE Fund is led by an advisory board of Hillsboro citizens operating independently of the school district. The advisory board leads fundraising efforts and will determine the annual grant and scholarship awards. The advisory board of the Hillsboro EIE also serves as the advisory board to the Hillsboro Scholarship Fund which provides scholarships to graduating seniors of Hillsboro High School. The Fund oversees two endowed scholarships, the Picha Memorial Endowed Scholarship and the Wolfenden Scholarship. Learn About Our EIE Grants Gifts to Excellence in Education funds are an investment in quality education for today’s students and future generations. Private resources allow for educational programming not typically funded by tax dollars.
