High School Scholarship Program

Farmers Electric Cooperative awards $10,000 in scholarships annually for high school seniors whose parents are members and reside in the cooperative's service territory.

Eligibility

• High school seniors
• Parents must be members of Farmers Electric Cooperative
• Must reside in Farmers Electric Cooperative's service territory (Iowa)
• Scholarships can be used for college or vocational technical schools

Award Details

• Total Award: $10,000 (distributed among selected applicants)
• Use of Funds: College or vocational technical school tuition and expenses
• Disbursement Timeline: Scholarships will be awarded after completion of the 1st semester

Application Process

1. Access the Application: Complete the fillable High School Scholarship Application form (available on the cooperative's website)
2. Prepare Required Materials:
   • Copy of official high school transcript
   • Short essay addressing the following prompt: "What are the advantages of being a member of an electric cooperative versus receiving your electricity from an investor owned utility?"
3. Complete the Form: Fill out all required fields in the application
4. Print and Sign: Print the completed application and obtain necessary signatures
5. Submit Application: Mail to:

6. Deadline: Applications must be received by close of business day April 1
