Overview

HFW Healthcare Career Scholarship Program – High School Healthcare Foundation of Wilson established the Healthcare Career Scholarship Program to help Wilson, NC public high school students who have an interest in the healthcare profession. Each high school in Wilson County will have the ability to award one student with a $1,000 scholarship. The student must be a graduating senior who will attend any North Carolina community college, college, or university for a major related to a healthcare career. Recipients of the scholarship will be selected by a committee at each high school with the understanding that any nominee must meet all eligibility criteria. Scholarship recipient information must be submitted by the school’s scholarship committee by the application deadline.

Eligibility

Current senior graduating in the current school year from a school in Wilson County.Accepted into a community college, college, or university in North Carolina.Plans to be a full-time student.Demonstrated scholastic achievement with a 3.0 or higher unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale.Has intentions to study a major that will yield a healthcare related profession upon graduation.Exhibited leadership, positive character, and community involvement.Filed Federal Student Aid Application (FAFSA).Recipients cannot be an immediate family member of a board member or staff member of the Healthcare Foundation of Wilson. (i.e. child, sibling, grandchild)
