Herb Alpert Foundation Emerging Young Artists Scholarships

Overview: The CSSSA Foundation is the exclusive partner of the Herb Alpert Foundation Scholarships for Emerging Young Artists, a major funding program for college-level artists.

Award Details:

  • Number of Awards: 21 CSSSA students receive awards each year

  • Award Range: $2,500 (one-time scholarship) to $40,000 (four-year scholarship)

  • Eligible Disciplines: All CSSSA disciplines (Music, Theater, Dance, Visual Arts, Creative Writing, Film)

  • Use of Funds: Recipients can use funds to cover tuition and educational expenses at any college or university they choose to attend
  • Eligibility:

  • Must be a CSSSA summer student

  • Selection is based on demonstrated excellence in their artistic discipline
  • Selection Process:

  • Recipients are determined and awarded during the CSSSA summer session by the CSSSA director, department chairs, and faculty

  • No additional application or paperwork is required
