H Hovnanian Family Foundation Grant

The H. Hovnanian Family Foundation Grant supports the Armenian community in Armenia and the U.S., focusing on Monmouth and Ocean Counties, New Jersey. The Foundation prioritizes education, healthcare, arts, and youth development through grants to registered non-profits. Proposals should demonstrate sustainability and community impact, with favorable consideration given to projects that engage local stakeholders and foster collaboration. Applications are accepted year-round, with a maximum funding limit of $10,000 for operational expenses.

Note: There are no grant deadlines per se, as grant proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis at the end of each quarter (end of March, end of June, end of September, end of December). These dates should be heeded if submitting a time-sensitive proposal.
Through grants, scholarships, and program-related investments, our primary areas of focus include education, healthcare, arts/culture, volunteerism, ecotourism, youth development, entrepreneurship, and promotion of Western values such as transparency.
Guiding Principles
To increase quality access to healthcare and to update the infrastructure of vocational institutions in Monmouth and Ocean Counties of New Jersey. To invest in furthering the education and practical work experience of the best and brightest next generation of forward-looking students who can envision and articulate their role in Armenia’s further development. To the greatest extent possible, initiatives that include solutions that address priorities with a built-in multiplier effect such as new employment opportunities or increased income revenue for the local economy, are what excite us most. To engage more deeply and strategically with innovative citizens who seek to improve the livelihood of their local community through innovative projects that can be further replicated for the greater good.  To foster creativity that helps bring innovative solutions to long-standing community-related challenges. To increase personal ties and the level of engagement between the Diaspora and Armenia via common shared experiences means the likelihood of a shared common vision, collaboration, and action taken is heightened, all necessary contributors to Armenia reaching its potential.    To support all levels of the repatriation process for Armenia’s long-term economic development.

Eligibility

The H. Hovnanian Family Foundation makes grants in the U.S. only to: Registered non-profit organizations that are charitable in nature i.e. designated IRS 501(c)(3) status in the U.S. including schools and churches. Organizations that have established at least one year of program outcomes. Project activities that fall under one of the Foundation’s primary areas of focus.Areas of Focus:Arts & Culture Entrepreneurship / Innovation Leadership, Youth and Community Development Public Health & Emergency Response Education
Calendar year, as well as multi-year grant requests, are eligible for consideration. Prior grant recipients of Foundation funding are eligible to reapply only after adhering to a 12-month waiting period following grant closure prior to submission of any new request.The Foundation will fund up to a maximum of 20% indirect project costs such as meals, hotels, and travel.A registered entity may submit more than one grant proposal per quarterly cycle.

Ineligibility

If all of the above criteria are met, grant requests greater than $10,000 cannot be requested for existing operational expenses. What we do not fund: Operational overhead expenses Non-registered entities/organizations Political action groups Proposals submitted without a sustainability plan Grant requests used to produce something for commercial sale The Foundation will not fund operational overhead such as salaries,.
