Greensboro Association Community Initiatives & Grants

Mission: The Greensboro Association supports non-profits and member-driven initiatives and distributes funds to selected applicants dedicated to human services, educational, cultural, and recreational activities.

Background

Grants are made possible by the generosity of the Greensboro Association membership in support of the community to ensure its vitality for generations to come.

Location: Greensboro, Vermont, United States

The organization supports initiatives in the following categories:

• Recreation
• Education
• Cultural Programming
• Emergency & Medical Services
• Food Security
• Human & Community Resources

Eligible Applicants

• 501(c)(3) organizations
• Municipal committees
• Companies or individuals with demonstrated commitment to serving the Greensboro community
• Ad-hoc community groups (with fiscal sponsorship from a 501(c)(3) or municipality)

Eligibility Requirements

All applicants must:

• Have a valid bank account
• Be in good standing with both the Greensboro Association and the IRS
• For new applicants/entities: only eligible to apply for initiative/project grants (not general/operating grants)

Grant Categories

1. Specific Initiatives or Project Grants: Applicants should demonstrate the reason for, design of, and potential benefits to the Greensboro community resulting from the initiative or project
2. General or Operating Grants: For valuable ongoing services to the Greensboro community. Applicants should provide an encapsulated description of overall services and explain how these services are funded

Award Amounts

• Standard range: $500 – $3,000
• Larger requests: Special consideration given to applicants demonstrating matching funding has been obtained or is being sought

2026 Grant Application Process

Deadline: Applications must be received by March 15

Award Timeline: Awarded applicants will be announced in May

Fund Distribution: Funds will be distributed as quickly as possible

2. Submit application by the March 15 deadline
3. Ensure your organization meets all eligibility requirements
4. Include required information based on grant category (see below)

Required Information by Grant Category

For Specific Initiatives or Project Grants:

• Reason for the initiative/project
• Design of the initiative/project
• Potential benefits to the Greensboro community

For General or Operating Grants (existing applicants only):

• Encapsulated description of the overall nature of ongoing services
• Explanation of how these services are funded

Matching Funds

• Applicants requesting larger amounts are encouraged to demonstrate matching funding has been obtained or is being sought
