Green Streets, Green Jobs, Green Towns (G3) Grant Program

The Chesapeake Bay Green Streets, Green Jobs, Green Towns (G3) Grant Program, funded by the EPA and Chesapeake Bay Trust, supports innovative green infrastructure projects enhancing community livability. With funding opportunities ranging from conceptual plans to full project implementation, this program aims to reduce stormwater runoff, improve urban green spaces, and boost local water health within the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Eligible locations include parts of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, as well as New York.

Background
The Chesapeake Bay Green Streets, Green Jobs, Green Towns (G3) Grant Program is funded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region III, West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, and the Chesapeake Bay Trust. This grant program supports design and implementation of green streets, community greening, and urban tree canopy projects that enhance livability in cities and communities, in addition to white papers that address these topics. The goal of this grant program is to help communities develop and implement plans that reduce stormwater runoff, increase the number and amount of green spaces in urban areas, improve the health of local waters and the Chesapeake Bay, and enhance quality of life and community livability. This program is a key component of EPA’s Green Streets, Green Jobs, Green Towns (G3) Partnership, which promotes sustainable community greening and stormwater management solutions.
Eligible Project Locations
This program funds projects within the Chesapeake Bay watershed portions of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, Virginia, and (new this year) New York.
Applicants can request funds from the following project tracks.
Track 1: Conceptual Plans for Green Streets/Green Infrastructure Projects (up to $20,000)Track 2: Engineered Designs for Green Streets/Green Infrastructure Projects (up to $35,000)Track 3: Construction/Implementation of Green Streets/Green Infrastructure Projects (up to $175,000)Track 4: Community Greening (up to $50,000)Track 5: White Papers (up to $20,000)Track 6: Charrette/Technical Planning Assistance (no direct funding)
