Overview

Greater Bay Area Central Coast Wildfire Relief Fund

Status: Launched August 2020 for immediate and long-term recovery assistance

Geographic Scope: 15 counties including Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma, Santa Cruz, Monterey, Mendocino, Lake, Humboldt, and Del Norte

Focus Areas:

  • Immediate relief assistance including housing assistance (vouchers or cash)

  • Cash assistance to displaced families

  • Identified immediate needs

  • Long-term recovery support including:

  • - Food and rent assistance
    - Case management services
    - Mental health counseling
    - Basic needs services to vulnerable populations
    - Support for non-profit agencies serving vulnerable populations

    Background:
    Four United Way organizations joined forces to create this fund in response to wildfires spreading throughout the Bay Area and Central Coast in August 2020. The fund assists residents and community agencies affected by the wildfires.

    Focuses on vulnerable populations including:

  • People with disabilities and special needs
