Grand Foundation Annual Grants Program

Geographic Scope: Grand County, Colorado

Overview: Each year the Grand Foundation awards funds to the non-profit community through its Annual Grants Program. Over $6 Million has been awarded since 1996, with over $2.1 Million awarded in the most recent cycle to over 199 non-profit organizations, individuals, and service club organizations.

Focus Areas:

  • Amateur sports

    • Eligibility:

  • Must be tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) and 170(b)(1)(A)(i.V.I.) of the Internal Revenue Code

  • Helpful to have a Charitable Solicitations Number from the State of Colorado

  • Other nonprofit entities demonstrating a need will be considered on a case-by-case basis

  • Organizations receiving funding in the past must have current progress and/or final reports on file with the GF to be eligible

  • Final reports should include photos when available

    • What They Fund:

  • Specific projects and programs with measurable results (evidence of productivity, change in number, etc.)

  • Operational funding requests will be considered

  • Collaborative agency grant requests are appreciated and encouraged

    • What They Don't Fund:

  • Late requests

  • Requests for programs or projects already completed

  • Refunding projects, programs or items purchased before the grant is approved or awarded

  • Participating in or funding of any political campaign on behalf of any issues, organizations or candidates

  • Sustaining funds (multiple year commitments) to organizations

  • Any changes to approved grant requests without proper documentation

  • Duplicate funding for the same request

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    Timeline:

  • Applications open: March 16, 2026

  • Deadline: May 1, 2026 at 12:00pm MST

  • Grant decisions made: June board meeting

  • Applicants notified: As soon as granting decisions are finalized

    • Required Materials:

  • Current final reports from previous funding cycles (if applicable)

  • Final reports should include photos when available

  • Do not submit final report from years' past as part of current grant request

  • For any changes to approved grants, must submit Grant Change Form for approval before funds can be used for any purpose other than the original

    • Application Notes:

  • Oral presentations are not required; however, the board reserves the right to request one

  • The GF has one grant cycle each year

  • Emergency grant requests are available for unusual circumstances or needs - contact office for more information
