The GSBA Governance Team of the Year Award recognizes prestigious achievement and honors Georgia public school districts' boards of education and superintendent teams who have adhered to best practices in board governance and demonstrated excellence in educational leadership.

Geographic Scope: Georgia public school districts

Focus Areas:

• Board governance excellence
• Best practices in board operations
• Superintendent and board collaboration
• Educational leadership

Eligibility:

• Georgia public school district boards of education and superintendent teams
• Divided into three categories based on district size:
  • Small: 1-3,000 students
  • Medium: 3,001-10,000 students
  • Large: 10,000+ students

Award Details:

• One winner per category annually
• 2023 winners: Dodge County Schools (Small), Baldwin County Schools (Medium), Henry County Schools (Large)
• Recognition-based honor (no monetary award specified)

Selection Process:

• Stringent application process
• Interviews conducted
• Impartial review team evaluates submissions
• Panel of national experts with leadership roles in public education makes final selection
