The mission of the Georgia Municipal Association is to anticipate and influence the forces shaping Georgia’s cities and to provide leadership, tools and services that assist municipal governments in becoming more innovative, effective and responsive. Created in 1933, the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) is the only state organization that represents municipal governments in Georgia. Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and technical consulting services to its members. GMA currently represents 537 cities in Georgia. A 62-member Board of Directors, composed of city officials, governs GMA. Georgia Energy Grant Program The Georgia Energy Grant Program will fund projects in the areas of energy planning, energy efficiency, workforce development, and Energy Resiliency. Purpose: This program will provide funding for communities to initiate and accelerate energy projects focused on energy planning, energy efficiency, and energy resilience. Available Funding: Requests for funding can range from $50,000 to $150,000. A minimum 10 percent cost match is required, but additional leveraging of funds is encouraged to maximize the energy-related benefits of a project.
