GMA Safety and Liability Management Grant Program

The GMA Safety and Liability Management Grant Program, administered by the Georgia Municipal Association, provides essential funding to eligible members of GIRMA and GMA’s Workers Compensation Self-Insurance Fund. This initiative aims to reduce workplace injuries and liability risks by supporting safety-related expenses, including equipment, training, and certifications.

Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and technical consulting services to its members. GMA currently represents 537 cities in Georgia. A 62-member Board of Directors, composed of city officials, governs GMA. Program implementation is charged to the Executive Director and a staff of more than 100 full-time employees.
The GMA Safety and Liability Management Grant Program provides funding to help eligible members of GIRMA and GMA’s Workers Compensation Self-Insurance Fund (WCSIF) reduce workplace injuries and liability risks.
Administered by Local Government Risk Management Services (LGRMS), the grant supports safety-related expenses such as equipment, training, and certifications.

To qualify, members must: Be current on all contributionsHave a designated safety coordinator or law enforcement risk specialistMaintain approved safety and inspection policiesHave completed an LGRMS-sponsored training within the past year You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member.
