Cook County Farm Bureau® Foundation The Cook County Farm Bureau® Foundation organization, established in 1997, is a 501c(3) non-for profit with a purpose of accepting tax-deductible donations based on IRS guidelines to be used to carry out charitable, literary, leadership training and educational work in agriculture in the Cook County area. The Foundation's key programs include “farm, food & agriculture” related scholarships for members/dependents pursuing higher education, internships, sponsorships of various agricultural literacy programming activities in the County for youth and adult agricultural leadership and education scholarships. Scholarship opportunities The Cook County Farm Bureau® Foundation enhances the future of agriculture by providing a variety of scholarships to members, dependents and others seeking a major in agriculture, agribusiness, or an agriculturally related course of study with intent on an agriculturally related career. The CCFB Foundation is intent on supporting future generations to help assure a well-qualified, professional agricultural workforce in the Chicagoland area and Illinois. General CCFB Scholarships Intended careers may include Farming, Greenhouse, Agronomy, Horticulture, Aquaculture, Agribusiness/Management, Rural healthcare, Veterinary medicine, Nutrition/Food Science, Agriculture Education, Forestry or a number of other agriculturally related pursuits.

Applicant must be an Illinois resident Applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent Applicant must be enrolled in and provide proof of enrollment to an accredited community college, four-year college or universityScholarships are rated based on provided information from applicant. Scholarships are then awarded based on a points rating system using scholastics, community involvement, agricultural activities, employment experiences, career essay objectives, financial need, and references.Additional points may be awarded if applicant is a member of the Cook County Farm Bureau, involved in the Young Leaders Program and/or an agricultural leadership training program.

Ineligibility

Cook County Farm Bureau Foundation directors and employees of the Cook County Farm Bureau or their immediate family members are not eligible to apply.
