FUNDSY Capital Funding for Nonprofits

Mission: Fill an important need for capital funding for the growth of the Treasure Valley's arts, education, civic and social service nonprofit organizations.

Program Overview

FUNDSY raises funds through biennial galas and other fundraising projects to support capital improvement projects ("brick and mortar improvements") for charitable organizations. The organization has raised over $8.7 million for 48+ organizations since 1967.

Selection Process

1. Nonprofits submit applications
2. Finalists present to the FUNDSY Board (Feb-Mar cycle)
3. Board selects one beneficiary per 2-year fundraising cycle
4. Selected beneficiary receives funding through FUNDSY Gala and other fundraising events

History

Originally named "Funds Serving the Y" to help build a YMCA in downtown Boise. Expanded in 1972 to support multiple nonprofits with capital projects. Recent beneficiaries include The Peregrine Fund (2022, $500,000 raised), TRICA (2018, $275,000 raised), and Treasure Valley YMCA (2024).

Application Process

Step 1: Submit Application

• Complete and submit application materials
• Application Deadline: December 12, 2025 (for 2026 funding cycle)

Step 2: Finalist Presentations

• Selected finalists will be invited to present to the FUNDSY Board
• Presentation Dates: February-March 2026
• In-person presentations to board members

Step 3: Beneficiary Selection

• Board reviews presentations and selects one beneficiary
• Announcement Date: May 2, 2026

Step 4: Funding

• Selected beneficiary receives funding through FUNDSY Gala (May) and other fundraising events
