Overview

Who We Are The Unitarian Universalist Funding Program (UUFP) is a denominational grantmaking program of the Unitarian Universalist Association. Inspired by the richness and diversity of our liberal religious tradition, the mission of the UUFP is to promote the influence of Unitarian Universalist principles through grantmaking. Grants are made that: Support the work of social justice. Strengthen Unitarian Universalist institutions. Transform gratitude for being into generosity of living. Make Unitarian Universalism more visible in the world. Fund for International Unitarian Universalism The Fund for International Unitarian Universalism makes grants to strengthen Unitarian/Universalist organizations or projects working internationally. This Fund accepts applications once a year, postmarked by March 15. If the 15th falls on a weekend, the deadline is the following Monday. Funding Priorities Priority is given to innovative, challenging or experimental programs or projects that address needs unmet by institutional structures. We prefer projects with plans for generating income from diverse sources, including contributions from members of the group applying. See Sample Grants. Grant Size The maximum grant is $20,000.

Grants are made to Unitarian Universalist (UU) organizations or projects working internationally to: Promote the growth of Unitarian/Universalist ideals and values;Strengthen Unitarian/Universalist institutions and community life;Nurture and celebrate our free faith;Encourage a generosity among Unitarian/Universalists that is reflected in commitments of time, money and energy.Generally, one proposal from an organization will be considered each cycle.Challenge grants are a possibility.Grants are for one year.Second-year funding is possible after submitting a new proposal and a final (or interim) report.

Grants are not made to individuals.Grants are not usually made for equipment, capital campaigns, endowments or feasibility studies.Grants are not made for general operating expenses.Third-year funding for the same project is unusual. We are not sustaining funders.
