Summary

The FSR Pilot Grant is an initiative by the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research to support innovative research projects focused on sarcoidosis. With a budget of $100,000 over two years, it encourages both new and existing research proposals. This grant aims to enhance collaboration within the research community to better understand the disease and potentially find a cure. Since its inception in 2018, it has significantly contributed to advancing research efforts in this critical area.

Overview

FSR Grants Discovering the causes of sarcoidosis, and ultimately a cure, can be uncovered through rigorous and collaborative scientific research. Our initiatives and grants focus on collaborations which advance the understanding of sarcoidosis and address the causes of the disease, the suffering of patients, and the potential for a cure for sarcoidosis. FSR has provided annual Research Awards, Abstract Awards, and Research Support to select programs. Clinically applied research is critical to achieving our mission and our grants have been critical is supporting many studies. Collectively we have awarded and planned for $4 million in grants to support innovative research projects leading to additional millions of dollars in subsequent awards to our researchers. FSR Pilot Grant The 2025 FSR Pilot Grant is the latest of FSR’s Pilot Grant program, which began in 2018. This opportunity allows researchers to apply with an existing or new project and aims to support smaller scale or pilot research projects, which can be supported either singularly by FSR or through a partnership with additional funders. Each proposal should feature a $100,000 project over a two-year period. The Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR) has undertaken a comprehensive process to develop a new research agenda that will guide its funding priorities and strategic direction. FSR employed a rigorous four-stage process to develop its research priorities, including conducting a literature review; hosting a brainstorming workshop with key stakeholders including physicians, patients, and caregivers; conducting direct stakeholder interviews; and facilitating a quantitative prioritization survey of the FSR community.
