Publication Grants The Franco Institute offers three types of grants to assist with the publication of peer-reviewed scholarly monographs. Grants are available to defray publication costs, subsidize the acquisition of images and permissions, and support professional indexing. In all cases: The Franco Institute's goal is to substantially defray, rather than eliminate, publication costs. Cost-shares are expected from R&PD accounts, external grants, etc.Support is awarded on a competitive basis and is not guaranteed. The quality and reputation of the press, the faculty member’s professional standing in the field, and the quality of the scholarly contribution will be considered. Indexing Grants Indexing Grants are awarded to defray indexing costs associated with hiring a professional indexer. If awarded, the faculty member must acknowledge financial support in the acknowledgment of the book and provide the Franco Institute with a hard copy of the book once published. The Franco Institute will provide up to $1,500 to cover indexing costs for faculty book projects.Eligibility
