Overview: In honor of Fran McFadden, this scholarship is awarded to dedicated volunteers of the Monterey County Free Libraries who are pursuing continuing education.

Purpose: To support local students, library volunteers, and staff by providing access to higher education opportunities and helping break down barriers to education.
Eligibility Requirements
- Proof of enrollment in an established institute of continuing education, including: - 4-year colleges - 2-year colleges - Trade schools - Adult schools
- Service requirement: Must have served as a volunteer of Monterey County Free Libraries or its Foundation during the period of August 1, 2024 through May 1, 2025 with more than 20 hours served
- Family restriction: You are NOT a family member of any FMCFL board member
