Program Description: The Foundation of VCCU provides financial support and education to local non-profit organizations. Support is offered in the form of grants for program, capital, or operational support.

Funding Priorities

• Support for the underserved
• Beautification or preservation of the environment
• Health and well-being

Eligibility Requirements

Organizations must:
• Be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
• Not be classified as a private foundation
• Be based and serve the communities of Ventura and/or Santa Barbara counties
• Be aligned with the foundation's funding priorities of the underserved, beautification or preservation of the environment, and health and well-being
• Be able to submit one (1) grant application annually

Ineligible Organizations

The following are NOT eligible for funding:
• Organizations that deny service based on race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, veteran, or disability status
• Individuals
• Political, labor, or fraternal organizations
• Religious organizations (churches and synagogues) — though secular community service programs sponsored by religious groups (soup kitchens, homeless shelters, job banks) may be eligible
• Individual pre-K-12 schools (public or private)
• Sports, athletic events, or athletic programs
• Travel-related events, including student trips or tours
• Development or production of books, films, videos, or television programs
• Memorial campaigns
