Funder: Shelby Ohio Community Foundation

Geographic Scope: Shelby, Ohio and surrounding local community

Purpose: The Foundation invests in programs that result in a strong, safe, prosperous city full of opportunities for all residents. Financial assistance is provided to local organizations to help bolster their services and improve residents' quality of life.

Eligibility

• Applicant Type: Not-for-profit organizations exempt from federal taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
• Individual Grants: Grants are not made to individuals, except in the form of scholarships (scholarships paid directly to college/university)

What the Foundation Funds

• Programs and specific projects (not regular school curriculum)
• Organization and community improvement initiatives

What the Foundation Does NOT Fund

• Annual operating expenses or ongoing support
• General operating budgets or budget deficits
• Salaries of established organizations
• Computer systems or software programs
• Projects where the primary purpose is promotion of religious doctrine or tenets
• Individual grants (except scholarships)

Grant Cycles

• Spring Deadline: March 20
• Fall Deadline: September 18
• Grants are generally awarded one time only for a specific purpose
