Foundation Grant Award

Funder: Explore Tualatin Valley (Washington County Visitors Association)

Program Status: Competitive award program. The December 2025 awards cycle is CLOSED (submissions were July 1 - September 15, 2025).

Geographic Scope: Washington County, Oregon

Award Amount: Up to $20,000 per project (up to $100,000 per fiscal year total)

Program Purpose

Prioritizes projects that will inspire awareness and overnight visitation to Washington County, Oregon, and serve as a platform for cultural and economic growth. Designed to support underserved or under-funded projects and is not intended to be a replacement for government funding.

    Eligible Project Types

  • Small capital projects
  • Public Art
  • Historic Preservation Projects
  • Indigenous and Cultural Heritage Projects
  • Recreation and Trail projects
  • Beautification, Wayfinding, and Signage
  • Any project that will encourage and inspire tourism to Washington County

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Eligible Organizations: Confederated tribes, non-profit 501(c) organizations, and government partners rooted in and connected to Tualatin Valley
  • Location Requirement: Must be located in Washington County, Oregon
  • ADA Compliance: All projects must be compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act
  • Prior Awards: Organizations that previously received awards are eligible if all prior awarded funds complied with agreement requirements and procedures
  • One Application Per Cycle: Only one strategic investment grant project per organization per cycle will be awarded

    What Will NOT Be Funded

  • Administrative or membership fees
  • Salaries
  • Business operating costs
  • Travel and mileage
  • Apparel for volunteers and/or staff
  • Non-visitor events (dinners, auctions, fundraisers, galas, school events, classes/workshops, clinics, camps, etc.)

    Legal Compliance Requirements

    Recipients must comply with:
  • Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
  • Section V of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
  • The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and ORS 659A.142
  • All federal, state, and local laws, regulations, executive orders and ordinances related to grant expenditure

Recognition Requirements

ETV requires recognition in the promotion of projects. Credit should state: "This project is funded in part using strategic investment funds from Explore Tualatin Valley" and include the Explore Tualatin Valley logo (provided by ETV).
