Overview

LISC and Foot Locker, Inc., through the Foot Locker Foundation, are launching a third round of grants for the Foot Locker Foundation Community Empowerment Program, a multi-city initiative to support nonprofit community organizations that empower youth in underserved communities. The program aims to bridge gaps driven by racial inequity and promote youth empowerment and community wellness—all while supporting community-based organizations led by people of color. What we’re offering The Foot Locker Foundation Community Empowerment Program offers two types of grants: Grants to support current youth programming, create new programming or extend existing programming. These grants will range from $25,000 to $75,000 over one year.  Grants to support capital improvement projects that enhance the impact of youth programming. These grants will range from $25,000 to $100,000 over one year.

Eligibility

This funding opportunity is open to 501c3 nonprofit organizations that: Primarily serve youth in under-resourced communities with programs and services focused on health and wellness, education and life skills support, mentoring, or career development  Include people of color in its leadership ranks Maintain at least one full-time staff person focused on youth programming  Operate in underserved communities within the following 12 cities: Atlanta, GA Baltimore, MD Chicago, IL Dallas, TX Detroit, MI Houston, TXLos Angeles, CANew York City, NYNewark, NJ Oakland, CA Philadelphia, PASan Francisco, CAWashington, DCServe youth in low-to-moderate income communities where support and opportunity are scarce.Deliver programs and services to connect youth to mentorship, education, career development, and health services.Have an organizational budget of $5 million or less.Maintain at least one full-time staff person focused on youth programming. Can engage local Foot Locker store team members in volunteer activities tied to the proposed program.

Ineligibility

Grants cannot be used to pay administrative costs (e.g., salaries, overhead).Current directors, officers, employees and contractors of LISC or Foot Locker and such individuals' family members (spouse, parents, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and spouses of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren) may not be eligible to receive an award.
