Federally Qualified Health Center Subsidy Grant

The Federally Qualified Health Center Subsidy Grant, administered by the Minnesota Department of Health, supports Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and FQHC Look-Alikes in improving services for low-income populations. Empowered by legislation from the 2007 MN Legislative session, this grant aims to enhance health equity across Minnesota, ensuring that all communities have access to essential healthcare services.

Per legislation passed during the 2007 MN Legislative session, Minnesota Statute 145.9269 empowers the Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Health to distribute grants to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and FQHC Look-Alikes "operating in Minnesota to continue, expand, and improve federally qualified health center services to low-income populations." The program is administered by the Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC).
