FCP: Nonprofit Growth Grants - MS in Nonprofit Leadership

The FCP Nonprofit Growth Grants support organizational development for nonprofits in Bucks County, offering up to $10,000. Eligible organizations must address behavioral health and human service needs for children and families. Grants are available throughout the year, and applicants may also apply for tuition assistance for the MS in Nonprofit Leadership. This initiative fosters partnerships to enhance nonprofit capabilities and promote community well-being.

Awarded throughout the year, Nonprofit Growth Grants range in value up to $10,000 to support the organizational and professional development needs of non-profit organizations.
Background
Through effective partnerships and collaborations, including The Nonprofit Center at La Salle University, Catalyst Center for Nonprofit Management and Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO), FCP invests in the organizational and professional development needs of Bucks County nonprofits.

Funding
An approved master’s degree candidate will be reimbursed equal to one-third (1/3) of the total tuition cost. The organization and the candidate are responsible for the remaining two-thirds (2/3) of the tuition.

Eligibility

Grants are awarded only to non-profit organizations supporting the behavioral health and human service needs of children, young adults, and families in Bucks County, Pa.Organizations that received a grant from FCP within the past 5 years are eligible to apply for tuition assistance for the MS in Nonprofit Leadership which is awarded annually in August.

Ineligibility

FCP does not fund the following:Organizations not exempt under Section 501(c)(3), charitable organizations, and Section 170(c)(1), government entities, of the Internal Revenue CodeOrganizations not classified in Section 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2) of the Internal Revenue CodeOrganizations described in section 509(a)(1) receive substantial financial support from contributions made by other publicly supported organizations, governmental units, the general public or a combination of such sources. By contrast, organizations described in section 509(a)(2) are publicly supported organizations that receive more than one-third of their financial support from contributions, membership fees and gross receipts from activities related to their exempt functions, and no more than one-third of their financial support from gross investment income.Advertising publications

Unregistered or unqualified pass-through/umbrella organizationsThe principle of a nonprofit pass-through/umbrella agreement is to have an established nonprofit with a 501(c)(3) exemption cover the applicant with its status. Doing so requires the established charity and the applicant to have a legal relationship that meets IRS standards.
