FAWC Fellowship

Program Type: Seven-month residency program

Geographic Scope: Open to artists and writers nationally and internationally

Award Recipients per Year: 20 emerging writers and visual artists

Program Duration: October 1 through April 30 (seven months)

Background: Since 1968 (50+ years), the Fine Arts Work Center Fellowship has become one of the leading residency programs in the world. Over 1,000 Fellows have been hosted. Alumni include multiple Pulitzer Prize winners, National Book Award winners, Prix de Rome scholars, Whiting Award recipients, Guggenheim Fellows, and a Nobel Prize in Literature recipient. Visual artists have exhibited at Venice Biennale, MoMA, Whitney, New Museum, MASS MoCA, and other major venues.

Application Process

Applications are accepted annually. Applicants are selected through a jury process.
