Farmers' and Retail Market Support RFA Grant

The Farmers' and Retail Market Support Grant Program, managed by the District of Columbia Department of Health, aims to build capacity and increase access to farmers' markets and mobile markets in food-insecure areas. Eligible applicants must register with the federal Systems for Award Management and possess a Tax ID. This initiative focuses on enhancing awareness of local food resources, particularly emphasizing support for fruit and vegetable producers to promote health and wellness in the community.

Note: Applicants must have a Tax ID# and be registered in the federal Systems for Award Management (SAM) with an active UEI# to be registered in DC Health’s Enterprise Grants Management System.

Funding provided through this RFA aims to attract qualified applicants to support capacity building and expand access to, and awareness of, farmers’ markets, farm stands, and mobile markets, collectively referred to as farm retail outlets (FROs), in areas of the District with limited food access, with a particular emphasis on fruit and vegetable producers.
