• Total: $2.2 million
• Structure: $1.1 million per year for 2 years

Geographic Scope: Sedgwick County (with emphasis on working families)

Focus: Providing assistance and services to low-income families at risk of or experiencing homelessness

Purpose:

• Provide navigation services and financial assistance to eligible families with children
• Support families struggling to afford housing or experiencing homelessness
• Create long-term stability for vulnerable families

Community Need: Approximately 40% of working families in Sedgwick County are considered ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed), living paycheck to paycheck and struggling to afford basic necessities like housing

Program Components:

• 211 Information and Referral Service: Expert guidance and resource connections
• Housing Navigators: Personalized support for families facing housing crisis
• Financial Assistance: Direct support to help families remain housed or transition to housing
• Community Partnerships: Collaboration with local partners to provide comprehensive support

Focus: Prevention and rapid rehousing to make homelessness "rare, brief, and non-recurring"
