Geographic Scope: Greater Los Angeles area
Purpose: Support runner-up finalists in the annual grant selection process to help attract additional funding for their projects
Background:
Created in 2020 as a new initiative, this grant recognizes that both finalists in the annual selection process present highly deserving projects. Given the difficulty and excellence required to become one of the last two candidates selected from approximately 30 contenders, the foundation established this Special Recognition Grant to support the finalist who does not receive the main $1 million award.
Eligibility:
- Must be a finalist in the annual Everychild Foundation grant selection process
- Selected from the top projects being evaluated by the Grant Screening Board

Expansion or new initiatives addressing critical needs of children in Los Angeles area
Example Recipient:
Baby2Baby (2020) - $100,000 for expansion of the On-the-Go mobile distribution program providing diapers, clothing, and basic necessities to children in underserved communities
