Geographic Scope: Applicants must be U.S.-based (home base and place of work). Projects and programs can be domestic or international.

Focus Areas: Global, wildlife-saving work by mid-career conservationists. Emphasis on ensuring grant recipients become mentors for emerging conservationists and youth conservationists.

Special Focus: Grants for mid-career conservationists from underrepresented groups, including women, people of color, Indigenous people, and those from disadvantaged communities.

Program Purpose

Conservation Nation provides grants for global, wildlife-saving work being done by mid-career conservationists from underrepresented groups. Grant recipients are expected to share their work and knowledge and become mentors for emerging conservationists and youth conservationists.

Timeline (2021 Program)

• Applications due: August 15, 2021, 11:59 p.m. EST via email
• Grantee notification: September 8, 2021 by email
• Public announcement: September 30, 2021 on website and via press release
• Funds available: Week of October 4, 2021
