Equitable Early Education Grant

Funder: Social Venture Partners Portland (SVP) and Black United Fund of Oregon (BUF-OR)

Program Status: Active collaborative grant program (third year as of 2025)

Geographic Scope: Oregon and Southwest Washington

Focus Areas: Early childhood education; increasing access to high-quality early learning for children facing barriers to preschool access

Eligibility:

  • Organizations must already be SVP Community Partners

  • Invitation-only applicants (not open to general public)

  • Mission-aligned organizations serving underserved communities
  • Award Structure:

  • Two organizations will receive unrestricted grants

  • Joint awards from both SVP Portland and Black United Fund of Oregon

  • One-time award structure
  • Award Announcement: January 2026

    About Black United Fund of Oregon (Partner):

  • One of the only Black-led foundations in Oregon

  • One of the few remaining Black-led organizations in historically-Black Northeast Portland

  • 40+ years of experience increasing post-secondary education success and providing philanthropic support to historically marginalized or underserved populations

  • Mission: Assist in social and economic development of Oregon's underserved communities and contribute to broader understanding of ethnic and culturally diverse groups
