Enrollment and Movement Incentives
Program: Special Initiative Award (became available 2014-2015, funded through Race to the Top)
Purpose: Provide grants to early learning programs not eligible for other STARS financial awards and/or support expansion of regulated childcare programs in targeted high-risk or moderate-high risk rural counties.
- Target Programs: Early learning programs not eligible for Rising STARS Support Grant or MERA Grant
- Reason for Ineligibility: Program does not meet 10% childcare subsidy eligibility requirement and/or program is not a DHS regulated childcare provider
- Geographic Focus: Targeted high-risk or moderate-high risk rural counties
