Emergency Heritage Grant

Program Description: A specialized grant program designed to address urgent preservation needs and emergency situations affecting historic properties. Based on the First Indian Presbyterian Church example, this program provides rapid funding for time-sensitive projects.

Geographic Scope: Idaho statewide

Focus Areas:

• Emergency repairs to historic structures
• Urgent stabilization needs
• Critical preservation interventions needed to prevent further deterioration or building closure

Example Award:

• First Indian Presbyterian Church received $20,000 in emergency funding (2024) to help reach a matching requirement for the National Fund for Sacred Places grant, enabling critical roof and ceiling repairs

• Historic property owners and stewards
• Nonprofit organizations managing historic sites
• Properties facing imminent deterioration or emergency conditions
