Elder Home Repair & Maintenance (EHRM)
Program Type: Home repair assistance service
Geographic Scope: Worcester and Southern Worcester County, Massachusetts
Overview: EHRM supports the age network concept of AGING IN PLACE by helping ensure a physically safe and healthful home. The program provides qualified agency insured staff to perform assessment of applicant needs, effect pertinent repairs, and make appropriate referrals when necessary.
- Age 60 years or older
- Own and occupy your own home
- In need of home repairs primarily benefiting health and safety
Eligibility
- Structural or system failures (stairs, doors, windows, ceilings)
- Minor plumbing failures
- Electrical faults
Services Provided
The program may repair:- Applicants approved after initial assessment need only provide necessary materials or the cost of prescribed materials
- Program actively solicits donations and may suggest an optional contribution for services

- First come, first serve basis with exceptions for urgent requests
- Applicants are scheduled upon contact

2. Schedule an appointment - Applicants are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis (exceptions made for urgent requests)
3. Initial assessment - Qualified staff will assess your home repair needs
4. Provide materials - Once approved, applicants provide necessary materials or funds for materials
5. Repairs completed - Agency insured staff perform the repairs and make appropriate referrals when necessary
Optional: Program may suggest an appropriate optional contribution for services provided
