Edmonds College Foundation Grants Program

Status: Currently not accepting applications (as of the last update)

Geographic Scope: Edmonds College, Lynnwood, WA

Eligibility: Open to all faculty and staff of Edmonds College

Award Amount: Grant requests up to $3,000 will be considered

Funding Priorities: Projects that enhance and improve Edmonds College programs and projects

    What Can Be Funded

  • Travel or associated costs
  • Start-up costs
  • Outreach materials
  • Capital purchases
  • One-time project or short-term funding for staff and faculty salaries (with 17% benefits added)

    What Cannot Be Funded

  • Staff and faculty salaries (except replacement costs for one-time projects or short-term funding with 17% benefits)
  • Exempt employee stipends
  • Curriculum development
  • Student scholarships
  • Applications including any of the above compensation will be automatically rejected

    Duration and Consecutive Funding

  • No project will receive funding for more than three consecutive years
  • Approximately 50% of available funding is allocated to grants that have not been funded in the past
  • Funds are available for one fiscal year only (July 1 - June 30); unused funds are reclaimed

    Requirements for Recipients

  • Must submit written report upon completion of the grant
  • If receiving second-year funding, report must be received before next year's funds can be released
  • May be asked to present project at Foundation Board of Directors meeting
  • Must give recognition to the Foundation for financial support
  • Applicant must be a currently employed staff or faculty member

How to Apply

Application Process

1. Obtain Application: The Foundation grant application is only available via the grants homepage (made available in winter quarter)

2. Complete Application Requirements:
- Completed cover sheet with all necessary signatures
- Clear description of the project
- How the project fulfills one of the Foundation's funding priorities
- Complete budget including all expenses and sources of funding
- Expenditure timeline
- Plans for securing future funding, if needed
- Application must be no longer than four pages including cover sheet

3. Required Signatures:
- Applicant signature
- Division Dean or Area Administrator signature (required; Division Dean or Area Administrator's choice whether to endorse, but Foundation will not consider a grant without proper signatures)

4. Submission Format:
- Applications must be completed electronically, printed for signature, scanned as PDF, and emailed
- No late, faxed, or printed applications accepted

5. Submission Details:
- Email completed application to: ecfoundation@edmonds.edu
- Applications are typically due in the spring (exact due date posted on Foundation Grants page)

6. Grant Award Process:
- All awarded grants assigned a College budget account number
- Grant acceptance paperwork emailed to recipients
- Paperwork must be completed and returned electronically to Foundation
- Foundation transfers funds to your account
- Account number emailed to you for access
- No approval from Foundation needed to access or spend grant funds

    Multiple Grant Eligibility

  • Faculty and staff may submit and receive more than one grant
  • However, highly unlikely to secure funding for multiple projects due to limited funds
  • Strongly encouraged to submit only one grant request per year
