Overview

Supporting thriving, spiritually strong communities in the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta Following Christ’s example and the tradition of The Episcopal Church, we partner with Episcopal communities in the Diocese of Atlanta by providing funding, leadership, and resources to enable Episcopalians to lift up people facing poverty and oppression and to achieve significant, long-lasting change in our communities. We provide charitable grants from The Rt. Rev. Bennett J. Sims Endowment to create significant, sustainable ministries and partnerships with the community, both serving people in need and encouraging spiritual growth for Episcopalians through service. Our Purpose We partner with Episcopal communities in Middle and North Georgia to lift up people facing poverty and oppression, creating sustainable impact for individuals, families, and communities. Our Vision Through Episcopal service, we envision thriving communities in Middle and North Georgia that are spiritually strong and free from poverty and oppression. Criteria for Applying Mission-Oriented: We support ministries working with people experiencing poverty and oppression, particularly efforts around hunger, homelessness, generational poverty, refugees and immigrants, human trafficking survivors, and people impacted by the criminal justice system. Sustainable, Episcopal Partnerships: We prioritize collaborations that strengthen outreach ministry while also providing an opportunity for Episcopalians to experience spiritual growth through their service. Project-Oriented Impact: As ECF’s grants serve the entire Diocese of Atlanta, projects which are oriented around capacity building and capital needs are significantly more attractive as they do not require annual renewal. ECF prioritizes requests that support creating new programs, expanding existing efforts, or innovative ideas and solutions.
