Earl B. and Loraine H Miller Foundation Grants

The Earl B. and Loraine H. Miller Foundation Grants support nonprofits in the Health, Education, and Arts sectors, particularly those addressing community needs in Long Beach. Grantees can apply for one-year funding for program support or core operating expenses. With an emphasis on sustainability, collaboration, and measurable impact, the foundation aims to empower organizations to enhance children's health and well-being while adapting to post-pandemic challenges.

In order to be responsive to the needs and challenges posed by the continuing consequences of the pandemic, our foundation provided the opportunity for grantees to utilize funding for operations.
Health, Education, and Arts Program Areas
Nonprofits and organizations who meet our eligibility requirements and serve in at least one of the Foundation’s three program areas, Health, Education, and the Arts, are invited to apply this year.
The Miller Foundation provides funding for the following types of requests for support:

• ProgramsCore Operating SupportCapacity Building
• Due to limited available funding, the Foundation will only consider one-year requests for support.

For the  2026/27 grant cycle, applicants will continue to see a shorter, more simplified online form, with separate versions for proposals of $10,000 or less and for those above $10,000.

Eligibility

Nonprofit organizations that are tax exempt under IRS Section 501(c)3Community groups that have a 501(c)3 organization serving as their fiscal sponsorGovernment agencies (e.g., city department, public school) that are able to provide proof of status as a government entity The Foundation will only consider proposals for programs and services that serve the Long Beach community.

Ineligibility

Applications will not be accepted via fax, email or mail. Organizations that have been in operation for less than three yearsIndividualsFor profit agencies and private, non-operating foundationsEndowments or deficit reduction campaignsAnnual fund drivesPolitical campaigns or lobbyingMedical researchReligious programs that are exclusionary to those outside of their religion (e.g., require membership to participate or use programs to promote membership in their religion)Organizations that discriminate by race, color, creed, gender, sexual orientation or national origin
