"Drawn to Art" Fellowship Grant

The "Drawn to Art" Fellowship, funded by the American Antiquarian Society, supports research in American art and visual culture using graphic materials. Aimed at postdoctoral scholars and graduate students, it offers a stipend of $2,000 per month for a term of one to two months. Eligible applicants include those from diverse fields relevant to American studies prior to 1900, with priority given to those who have not held long-term fellowships recently.

Eligibility

Postdoctoral scholars and graduate students.Academic research fellowship applicants may come from such fields as history, literature, American studies, political science, art history, music history, and others relating to America before 1900. CriteriaFellows are selected on the basis of: the applicant’s scholarly qualifications, the scholarly significance or importance of the project, and the appropriateness of the proposed study to the Society’s collections.Foreign nationals who have been residents in the United States for at least three years immediately preceding the application deadline for the fellowship are eligible.
