Eligibility:

Teachers at elementary, middle, and high school levels

Must teach material pertaining to the Revolutionary War era (1750-1800)

Must demonstrate educational efforts that exceed and excel above current accepted curriculum requirements

Focus Areas:

Excellence in classroom teaching

Revolutionary War era history instruction (1750-1800)

Advanced curriculum and pedagogy

Award Details:

3 awards annually: one for elementary, one for middle, one for high school

Value: Up to $5,000 per winner

Includes:

- Trip to one of the following seminars:
- Freedoms Foundation Summer Teacher Graduate Workshop at Valley Forge, PA
- Colonial Williamsburg Summer Teacher Workshop in Williamsburg, VA
- Jefferson Symposium at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA
- SAR Annual Conference on the American Revolution (location varies)
- George and Martha Washington's Mount Vernon, Mount Vernon, VA
- Cash stipend
- Funds to purchase classroom materials
