NOTE: Microgrants are offered once a year. Dr. Phillips Charities As stewards of the Phillips family legacy, it ensures that charitable contributions honor and contribute to the Phillips family vision. Dr. Phillips Charities considers grants that have a significant and lasting impact on Central Florida, including capital projects and innovative programs that address critical community needs and demonstrate potential for ongoing community support. The Dr. P. Phillips Legacy Microgrant Program he Dr. P. Phillips Legacy Microgrant Program awards intentionally smaller grants of $5,000 to 15 nonprofit organizations annually whose organizational budgets are $2 Million or less. Priority is given to projects that decrease economic pressures on ALICE or low-income families or increase literacy among children and adults. Primary areas of support include: Education Children & Youth Arts & Culture Health Social Services In addition, Dr. Phillips Charities awards grants to organizations that preserve the free enterprise system and protect private property rights. Eligibility

Dr. Phillips Charities primarily supports not-for-profit organizations that serve Orange and Osceola Counties in Florida, and that have completed two full years of operation after the date of receipt of its tax exempt determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service.Grants are made only to organizations exempt from federal taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended. In addition, if the nonprofit organization is a supporting organization, Dr. Phillips Charities will only consider a grant proposal from either a Section 509(a)(1) or Section 509(a)(2) supporting organization per the Internal Revenue Code.

Ineligibility

Dr. Phillips Charities DOES NOT make grants:to individuals or private foundations;to private schools for projects other than scholarships to increase total enrollment using a nationally accepted screening criteria to determine financial need;to projects of social, religious, fraternal or veterans groups that primarily benefit their own members or adherents;to retire accumulated debt; or,for legislative lobbying or other political purposes.Requests are not encouraged for endowments, research, trips or tours, scholarships, conference attendance, newsletters or other promotional materials, magazines or books, and television or video production. Requests for vans or other vehicles will not be considered. Grants for a particular project or program are made on a one-time-only basis. Pledges will generally not exceed a three-year period. Multiple requests in a twelve month period are not encouraged.Grants are not made to 509(a)(3) supporting organizations.Grants are not made to an organization until the organization has completed five full years of operation from the date of receipt of its exemption determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service.
