Overview: The Danville Public School Foundation awards annual recognition to outstanding teachers demonstrating continuing dedication to their profession and students.

Background: Established in 2001 and named for Dr. David L. Fields, a 1953 Danville High School graduate who served as Danville Superintendent of Schools (1960-2000) and on the Illinois State Board of Education for 10 years.

Award Structure:

  • Foundation Award: $500 cash award to each recipient

  • District Supplement: $500 of instructional supplies provided by District 118 for the recipient's classroom
  • Geographic Scope: Danville Public Schools District 118 (Danville, Illinois)

    Eligibility: Outstanding teachers at three levels:

  • Primary/Intermediate level

  • Middle school level

  • High school level
