Douglas C. LaBrecque Scholarship Fund Grant

The Douglas C. LaBrecque Scholarship Fund, established by the Maine Community Foundation, supports students from the foster care system in Maine. This renewable scholarship is aimed at those pursuing education at local colleges, universities, trade schools, or other post-secondary programs. The Maine Community Foundation, founded in 1983, is committed to enhancing education and community welfare through strategic giving and investment, awarding over $3 million annually through various scholarship funds.

The Maine Community Foundation established its first scholarship fund in 1984. Now, through the generosity of individuals, community organizations, and businesses that believe in the importance of education, the community foundation awards more than $3 million each year from nearly 700 scholarship funds.
MaineCF scholarships provide financial assistance for Maine residents attending accredited colleges, universities, technical and career schools. The funds also support students attending private high schools, camps, and experiential learning programs.
This scholarship provides renewable support to students who have been in the foster care system in the state of Maine, and who are pursuing an education at a Maine college, university, trade school or other post-secondary program.
