Donald R. Henne Memorial Scholarship Grant

The Donald R. Henne Memorial Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, supports residents from East Lyme, Groton, Ledyard, Lyme, Montville, New London, North Stonington, Old Lyme, Salem, Stonington, and Waterford pursuing environmental studies at an accredited college or university. Established to empower students in their academic journey, this scholarship aligns with the Foundation's mission to promote equity and support community needs in the region.

With an asset base exceeding $120 million and over $100 million awarded in grants and scholarships, the Foundation acts as a philanthropic hub connecting donors to community needs and opportunities. Guided by values of equity, social justice, transparency, accountability, and inclusivity, CFECT focuses on four key priorities: empowering youth, advancing basic needs and rights, preserving the environment, and promoting animal welfare. Through grantmaking, advocacy, and collaboration, the Foundation works to eliminate racial and economic disparities, uplift historically marginalized voices, and create lasting, positive change for a more equitable and sustainable future.
