About The Heart of Illinois Community Foundation is where generous families, individuals, companies and nonprofits make charitable dollars go the furthest for the permanent good of our community. We are a 501(c)(3) public charity comprised of more than 400 charitable funds created by people just like you. Those funds, and the gifts that started them, bear the mark of many donors, not just a select few, which differentiates us from a private foundation. Do Something Great Awards The Do Something Great awards program honors remarkable individuals who’ve made a significant impact through their generosity, skills and dedication to transforming Macon County. The Heart of Illinois Community Foundation (HICF) has sponsored this program for the past 22 years. The Robert and Bev Ketenbrink Community Commitment Award Honoring those who have made the great impact on Macon County through giving of their time, talents and/or treasures. Award presented to an individual, a couple or a family with a record of exceptional generosity, demonstrated outstanding civic or charitable responsibility, and leadership that has encouraged and motivated others toward roles in philanthropy. This award includes a $1,000 grant to the recipient's charity of choice.
