Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) Fund Grant

The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) Fund, established by the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation, aims to support initiatives that enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion across five counties and the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. Grants of up to $2,500 are available for organizations led by marginalized communities, including people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals. Priority is given to projects promoting awareness, education, and equitable access to resources, fostering a more inclusive future.

We do this by promoting giving, engaging in collaborative leadership, supporting nonprofit organizations through meaningful grants and local students through scholarships, and building endowments that make a lasting impact for generations to come.
To date, we have received more than $123 million in gifts and awarded over $65.7 million in grants and scholarships.
Our DEI Fund is dedicated to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, and Leelanau Counties as well as the sovereign nation of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.

About the DEI Fund
The DEI Fund supports diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across the region, including primarily providing support for organizations led by Black, Indigenous, people of color, LGBTQ+, immigrant, neurodiverse, and/or disability community members. We will also consider DEI training and learning and other partners, programs, and opportunities promoting equity and inclusion.
Amount
Grant requests for up to $2,500 will be considered. Generally, grants to an organization will not exceed $2,500 in a given year.

Eligibility

Nonprofit, educational, governmental, and Tribal entities across Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Leelanau Counties as well as the sovereign nation of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians are eligible to apply.What We Fund:General operating support for organizations led by community members of color, including Black and Indigenous people, as well as LGBTQ+, immigrant, neurodiverse, veteran, and/or disability community members.
Events that increase awareness and provide education about communities of color, including Black and Indigenous people, as well as LGBTQ+, immigrant, neurodiverse, veteran, and/or disability communities.
Efforts that increase the effectiveness, voice, and visibility of communities of color, including Black and Indigenous people, as well as LGBTQ+, immigrant, neurodiverse, veteran and/or disability communities.
Programs or projects that promote equity and inclusion.
DEI trainings or learning opportunities.
