- Political candidates, political campaigns or organizations engaged in political activities
- Litigation
- Institutions limiting services to persons of a single religious sect or denomination
- Social or political problems outside of the United States
- Individuals
- Federated appeals or organizations that collect funds for redistribution to other nonprofit groups
- Multi-year requests
What They Don't Fund
- Letters of Idea (LOI) due by 5:00pm on the last day of each month
- LOIs reviewed for eligibility and competitive qualities by Community Foundation staff
- Full grant applications invited from qualifying organizations
- Full applications reviewed by committee comprised of Board of Directors and community members
- First-time applicants may be required to participate in pre-application grantee conference
- Organizations applying for renewal funding for fourth consecutive year may be required to have pre-application review
- Unsolicited applications not requested as result of reviewed LOI will not be considered
Application Process
- Most grants require reporting back to Foundation regarding use of funds
- Reports of past grants must be on file before organization can apply for additional Foundation funds
- Applications from organizations with delinquent reports are considered non-responsive and will not be reviewed

Application Process
Step One - Setup/Update Nonprofit Profile:
1. Setup or update your Nonprofit Search profile to Platinum Seal using GuideStar
2. View GuideStar Profile and claim/request permission to update
Step Two - Submit Online Application:
1. Log in to the Nonprofit Portal to apply for a grant online
2. Submit Letter of Idea (LOI) by 5:00pm on the last day of each month
LOI Review and Full Application:
1. LOIs are reviewed by Community Foundation staff for eligibility and competitive qualities
2. Organizations that qualify will be invited to submit full grant applications
3. Full applications are reviewed by committee comprised of Board of Directors and community members
