Illinois Community College Board In 1965, the Illinois General Assembly established the Illinois Community College Board to create a system of public community colleges that would be accessible to every resident. More than 50 years later, the Illinois Community College System is the third largest system in the United States, with 48 colleges and one multi-community college center throughout Illinois. The community colleges serve over 500,000 Illinois residents each year in credit and noncredit courses and serve many more through public service programs. Digital InstructionforAdult Education The Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) is inviting currently funded Title II Adult Education and IELCE programs to apply for the Digital Instruction for Adult Education. Adult learner access to technology and digital skills instruction is essential for effectively transitioning into postsecondary education or the workforce. As new technology continues to emerge, adult education programs must adapt and upgrade their technology infrastructure to better serve adult learners. The purpose of this grant is to provide funding for adult education programs to improve their technology infrastructure, support technology integration in the classroom, and improve distance learning options for adult learners. The grant is comprised of the following objectives: Enhance the Title II Provider’s technology resources and infrastructure.Increase access to instruction and support services. Assist individuals who lack foundational skills or are English learners to enter postsecondary education or work-based training. Develop academic and professional digital skills for eligible adult learners. Encourage Innovation through Artificial Intelligence (AI)Eligibility
