DGLF Family Literacy Grants

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation offers Family Literacy Grants to nonprofit organizations that support family literacy initiatives. Eligible applicants must provide services such as adult education, children's education, and parent-child engagement activities. Organizations must be located within 15 miles of a Dollar General store and have a valid IRS tax ID. This funding aims to enhance literacy skills for families, empowering individuals to achieve their educational goals.

Our Grant Programs
The Dollar General Literacy Foundation provides grant funding to support literacy and education initiatives serving individuals of all ages. The Foundation funds nonprofit organizations, schools and libraries within a 15 mile radius of Dollar General stores in the states in which they operate.
Nonprofit organizations who support the whole family in literacy and are seeking funding are encouraged to apply if they provide the following:

• Adult Education InstructionChildren’s EducationParent and Child Together Time (PACT)

Eligibility

Your organization must be one of the following:A qualified 501(c)(3) organization with a valid IRS tax IDA K-12 Private or Public SchoolA College or UniversityA Public Library Your organization provide direct service and reside within a state in which Dollar General operates. (See locations here) Your organization must be located within 15 miles of a Dollar General store.Your organization must be listed in the National Literacy Directory.
