DGLF Adult Literacy Grants

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation offers Adult Literacy Grants to support organizations providing essential literacy services to adults. Grants of up to $10,000 are available for programs in Adult Basic Education, GED preparation, and English language acquisition. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations, schools, and libraries located within 15 miles of a Dollar General store. The foundation aims to enhance educational opportunities and foster personal growth through literacy.

Our Grant Programs
The Dollar General Literacy Foundation provides grant funding to support literacy and education initiatives serving individuals of all ages. The Foundation funds nonprofit organizations, schools and libraries within a 15-mile radius of Dollar General stores in the states in which they operate.
We award funding to organizations that provide direct services to adults in need of literacy assistance in one of the following areas:

• Adult Basic EducationGED or High School Equivalency PreparationEnglish Language Acquisition
• Maximum grant amount: $10,000

Eligibility

Your organization must be one of the following:A qualified 501(c)(3) organization with a valid IRS tax IDA K-12 Private or Public SchoolA College or UniversityA Public LibraryYour organization provide direct service and reside within a state in which Dollar General operates. (See locations here).Your organization must be located within 15 miles of a Dollar General store.Your organization must be listed in the National Literacy Directory.For the Adult literacy grants there are no restriction on the number of years in a row that your organization can apply and receive grants at this time.
