Overview
Department of Corrections - Grants
The Grants and Subsidies (GAS) Unit within the Department of Corrections administers and monitors approximately 250 grants, subsidies, contracts and reimbursements totaling over $75 million each year. These funds go to partnerships that have been developed between the state, tribal nations, county agencies and organizations to provide correctional services. Most of the funding that the GAS Unit oversees has either been legislatively appropriated or defined in statute. Occasionally, funding comes from federal sources. The GAS Unit currently manages these types of grant programs:
- Reentry Halfway House
- Alternatives to Incarceration
- Temporary Housing
- Caseload/Workload Reduction
- Sex Offender Treatment
- Remote Electronic Alcohol Monitoring (REAM)
- Intensive Supervised Release (ISR)
- Community Corrections Act (CCA) Subsidies
